We have been growing and selling grapes on Long Island’s North Fork since the mid 1990s in the hamlet of Cutchogue, where we have our family home. Russ McCall planted our first vineyard knowing he would wait until the vines were mature and time was right to release his first wines. He wasn’t interested in putting our family name on a bottle unless it was worthy. 2007 was the vintage we found to be our jumping off point. Since then we have followed a model of winemaking focused on getting consistent results. Quality begins with farming. Our sustainable, low-yield vineyard practices allow our winemaker to work with only the finest grapes, the foundation of any distinguished wine.
I've only ever been here in Friday's in the summer when they do their food truck but I love this vineyard. Rustic and adorable and the wine is great here too! Highly recommend coming when they have a food truck because it's so great to sit and eat and drink in the back and just relax. Love stopping here on my way out.
This winery is one of my favorites, I have been here numerous times and the owners, Russ and Nicola are both extremely knowledgeable and engaging! Russ is always happy to sit and chat and talk about anything and everything, from his days riding polo ponies to the breed of French cattle that they raise! The wine is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed. This is a great place to go on a date or out with friends! I highly recommend McCalls for a wonderful wine tasting experience!
Excellent and unique winery. The building amhas gone from a potato farm, to stables, to a wine tasting room. Large tables in individual "stalls" or smaller tables in the "barn", it's all very cozy. Delicious assortments of cheese are available while sipping wonderful wine. Very relaxing atmosphere. We loved it and will definitely return.
A must for anyone visiting the area, an old barn converted to a fun tasting room. The host was knowledgeable and pleasant. I appreciated the various options for tastings and the fact that she was flexible for my girlfriend and I to share. Prices were fair and I bought a bottle to take home.
